5 little pigs
We found ourselves at 5 Little Pigs in Huskisson for brekkie, drawn in by the crowd gathered out front and the smell of good coffee wafting down the street. It’s got that classic coastal café charm — a little bit rustic, a little bit cool, and full of locals and visitors who clearly know this is the spot to start the day.
🍳 First up was the mushroom omelette — fluffy and folded with buttery sautéed mushrooms, dill, and parmesan. The dill added this unexpected freshness that cut through the richness in the best way. Super simple but so well done. Comforting without being heavy.
🦀 The spanner crab toast was definitely the standout — fresh, delicate crab piled onto thick-cut sourdough with all the right creamy, citrusy notes. It was light, a little fancy, and something you don’t see everywhere. One of those dishes that makes you slow down and savour every bite.
🍌 We couldn’t resist finishing with a slice of banana bread, toasted and perfectly caramelised on the outside, soft and cakey inside. The kind you keep picking at even when you’re full.
☕️ Coffee was smooth and strong, just how we like it — and the staff were friendly without being over the top, keeping things moving even with the morning rush.
5 Little Pigs is one of those breakfast spots that feels effortless but delivers big. Thoughtful food, great coffee, and just the right amount of local personality. We’ll be back next time we’re in town.
