Daniel San, Manly
If you’re looking for a spot that combines delicious Japanese eats, beachside views, and seriously cool vibes, Daniel San in Manly is one of those places that just gets it right.
🔍 After a sun-soaked day on the Northern Beaches, we were craving something fresh, fun, and a little bit special. Daniel San had come highly recommended for its quirky design and beachside energy – and let’s be real, I was sold the moment I heard about their sushi and sashimi boat.
🎏 Situated just steps from Manly Beach, Daniel San channels the fun, neon-lit energy of a Tokyo street party, with a cheeky Aussie twist. It’s bright, loud (in a good way), and buzzing with people grabbing drinks after a swim or celebrating something special. We sat by the front so we could peek at the ocean, which was the perfect backdrop as the sun dipped.
🍣 Let’s talk about the star of the show: the sashimi and sushi boat. This thing was a statement. Presented in a massive wooden boat, it glided over to our table like a culinary catwalk moment – and turned a few heads as it did.
It was packed with all the good stuff:
Salmon, tuna, kingfish sashimi – fresh, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth.
Delicate nigiri and classic sushi rolls, each piece crafted with care.
Edamame, seaweed salad, and pickled ginger to cleanse in between bites.
Every element was fresh, generous, and beautifully balanced. Honestly, it was one of the best seafood feasts I’ve had in Sydney. Perfect for sharing (if you’re feeling generous).
👀 The karaage chicken bao buns and grilled miso eggplant were catching my eye on other tables – and I’ve heard great things about their Japanese-inspired cocktails too (hello, yuzu margarita?).
🌊 Daniel San isn’t just a restaurant – it’s a whole experience. Fun, vibrant, beachy, and totally memorable. That sushi boat was worth every dollar, and the setting made it all the more special. If you’re in Manly and craving sushi with a side of sea breeze, this is your place.
Thanks for the vibes and the boat, Daniel San
