Sokyo

Babe, you know Sokyo is one of those places I’ll always go back to. Been before, but every time feels like a little luxe moment. It’s dark, sexy, moody gave vibes like “we’re in a scene from a Netflix drama.”

We went straight in with the opulent sashimi platter which is 32 pieces of chef’s selection. $200, yes, but honestly it was like eating jewellery. Silky toro that melted like butter, oysters so fresh they tasted like an ocean kiss, and every single slice of fish was perfection. It’s one of those dishes where you just sit there nodding because words don’t do it justice.

Then a mix of tempura which was light, crispy, airy. Couldn’t even tell you what half of it was, but every bite was crunchy heaven. Not oily, just elegant little golden bites.

And babe… the tuna crispy rice. You know how I feel about that one. Spicy tuna tartare, creamy mayo, on top of that Niigata rice crisp. Texture heaven. If Sokyo bottled that combo I’d have it on subscription.

Every time I go back, it reminds me why I love it. It’s indulgent, it’s bougie, and it always delivers. A repeat favourite for a reason. ✨🍣
