Mr Wong’s

Babe, you know Mr Wong is basically my family’s second home at this point which is our go-to for any special occasion. The second you walk in it’s giving Shanghai speakeasy fantasy, dim lighting, buzzing energy, ducks hanging like a fashion statement. It’s a whole vibe.

The service? Flawless. Like, they make you feel important without being stuffy.

Okay, the food, let me take you through it:

🐚 The pipis with XO sauce? Dead. Smoky, salty, umami bom. I could literally drink that sauce with a straw.

🍤 The Queensland king prawns steamed with ginger and shallots. Yes it’s $60 for prawns, but darling, they were juicy, sweet, delicate. A moment.

🐂 The Angus beef cubes with Kampot black pepper. Honestly, this dish alone is worth the booking. Perfectly tender, peppery, and sexy. Like, I was in love.

🍚 Fried rice which not just fried rice, babe. This is Mr Wong fried rice. Pork, prawn, smoky wok hei. Luxe, bougie, and addictive.

🌶️ The spicy chicken with sesame sauce and chilli oil. Silky, nutty, spicy. If a dish could flirt, it would be this one.

🥟 The deep-fried dim sum platter. Fun, crispy, golden little bites of joy. Like a party in every mouthful.

🦆 The Peking duck pancakes is THE moment. Tableside carving, glossy duck skin, hoisin, soft pancakes… drama and deliciousness rolled into one.

🍨 And then babes, the deep-fried vanilla ice cream with butter sauce… it’s giving retro Cantonese banquet nostalgia but glow-up version. Crispy shell, creamy centre, butter sauce that I could bathe in.

Honestly, every time we go it reminds me why it’s a family favourite. It’s expensive, but it’s giving celebration energy. You go there when you want to feel glam, full, and a little bit extra. 🥢✨
